The session, "What's New with the Internet of Things: Including International and U.S. Tax Developments," will begin with a presentation by FEI member Sandy Bell, CFO at LogicPD, about Internet of Things (IoT) developments from an overall business, technology and operations perspective. Following Sandy's presentation, KPMG will comment on related tax issues.

Learn about international tax and U.S. tax planning for the Internet of Things, including permanent establishment, nexus, services software, media and other economic transactions. Globally taxing authorities are pursuing taxation of the digital economy with a recent example of a tax enacted in the UK called the diverted profits tax, OECD Base Erosion Profits Shifting (BEPS), initiatives and state tax authorities are using multiple approaches like economic nexus or market-based sourcing or click-through nexus.
