Business Ethics and Real-World Violations

Join us for this session on business ethics and issues sponsored by Ledgent Finance and Accounting! This will be a case-study approach and focus on learning from real-world ethical violations. Session will be held via Zoom meeting compared to a webinar so that participants may interact and discuss case studies. Participants will be encouraged, but not required, to participate using audio and video.  This session is eligible for 2 behavioral CPE credits.

Topics covered will include:

  * Understand the attitudes of others related to ethics
  * Understand laws, rules and regulations which apply to CPAs
  * Understand consequences of violating the laws, rules and regulations
  * Understand and learn from current ethical violations
  * Understand examples of effective and ineffective ethical leadership
  * Understand benefits of ethical leadership

Speaker Bio:

Boz Bostrom is a professor of accounting and finance at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, and he speaks nationally on the topics of ethics and leadership. Boz teaches a variety of accounting and finance courses, including a capstone course which has a focus on the study of business ethics.

He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Society of CPAs and is active as a CPA as an international tax and finance consultant for a Fortune 1000 company in the Twin Cities. Prior to becoming a professor, Boz was a senior manager in Deloitte’s international tax practice.

Boz has a particular interest in the area of ethical leadership, and has written a book about one of the most effective and ethical leaders of all-time, retired Saint John’s football coach John Gagliardi. The book is entitled, A Legacy Unrivaled: The Story of John Gagliardi.
